Course Description

This course is an introduction to how meaning is constructed and communicated through visual images. You’ll explore visual organization and composition, and develop sensitivity to both representational and abstract form. Through discussion and critique, you’ll have the opportunity to communicate ideas about your projects and to understand work in historical and cultural context.

What You’ll Learn

  • Technical skills in drawing.

  • Creative skills that allow you to interpret and apply the visual to the tactile.

  • Critical understanding of the theoretical and conceptual issues central to drawing and the social, historical and cultural context in which it is practised.

  • Visual composition skills that allow for the representation of the simple and abstract.

  • Correct technique and deviation techniques from the norm of artistic representation.

Entry Requirements

Basic pencil drawing skills and transferral to online sphere are required.
